I came across a post at the San Francisco Chronicle's blogwhich discussed some of the ways the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department might generate additional revenue for the cash-strapped agency. The ideas proposed by the city staff are pretty typical as listed below:
- out-of-towners extra fees,
- expanding league fees,
- implementing a "Golden Gate Park" preservation fee that might be added to the cost of museum tickets,
- selling the naming rights to Candlestick Park and
- charging for parking in some parks
